90's Fashion

The 90's style of fashion is by far my favorite. Although, I have talked to people who were youmg in the 90's and they claim that it does not even exist.
To me, 90's fashion consists of dark grunge as well as soft grunge. It is Dr. Martens, tights and smiley tees.
This style of clothing is still huge today, here are some of the 90's styles that are still in today.

First, and most important, Dr. Martens:

These boots were first intended for workers, and this explains why they are so heavy duty. But, these boots are now the staple of grunge fashion and go great with some torn up tights or over the knee socks.

And next, Jansport backpacks:
These backpacks were, and still are, intended for carry books or for long road trips. But, with lots of colors and patterns available, these backpacks are an easy way to look fashionable in school or on the road.

Another good style is high-waisted shorts:

In my opinion, high waisted short or pants, never went out of style. They are perfect for multiple reasons: 1: They make you look thinner 2: You can wear crop shirts with them and not show off your stomach 3: They are always in stlye.

Next, body piercings:
Body piercings are another thing that has never been out of stlye since the 90's. Grunge fashion would not be complete without piercings. Ranging from a belly button piercing to a nose ring, piercings are a staple for a rebellious teen who loves grunge, or like me, a not so rebellious teen who loves grunge.

Last, but not least, flannels:

Another workman like style that has gone grunge, are flannel shirts. They are perfect over your high waisted shorts in the summer or under a bunch of layers in the winter.

All I Want For Christmas is..

I would love to be able to say that there is nothing really that I want for Christmas but a fashionista never passes up an opportunity for free clothing.
My #1 on my Christmas list this year is this amazing pair of Jeffrey Campbell's.They are the Coltranes in Distressed Black:
The second item I have fallen in love with, even though it is the middle of winter. This is the Cotton Candy Swimsuit by Marialia:
And everyone that knows me is already aware that I LOVE American Apparel. Here are some goodies I want from their website. First is a new pair of Disco Pants in Gold:
Then I stumbled upon this amazing top. This is the Rayon Mid-Length Tie-Up Blouse in Black Rosette:
Next is an American Apparel basic I have been wanting for about a year, it is the Unisex Flex Fleece Zip Hoodie in Black:
There were only two little accessories that I wanted this year: a plaid scarf (no particular brand) and the Aurora Borealis choker from Dolls Kill:
Those are the big things on my list for Christmas along with a million other smaller items. Happy Holidays!!!

Televised Suicide

A host of a talk show in Florida, Christine Chubbock, signed off her show on July 15, 1974, by remarking that her viewers were about to see a TV first. She then presented a gun and killed herself on camera.

What Goes Around Comes Around

Flemming was a poor Scottish farmer. One day, while trying to make a living for his family, he heard a cry for help coming from a nearby bog. He dropped his tools and ran to the bog. There, mired to his waist in black muck, was a terrified boy, screaming and struggling to free himself. Farmer Flemming saved the lad from what could have been a slow and terrifying death.

The next day, a fancy carriage pulled up to the Scotsman's sparse surrounings. An elegantly dressed nobleman stepped out and introduced himself as the father of the boy Farmer Flemming had saved. The nobleman offered to repay Farmer Flemming for saving his son's life, but the farmer would not accept payment. At that moment, Farmer Flemming's own son came to the door of the family hovel. The nobleman and the farmer struck up a deal that he would provide Farmer Flemming's son with the same level of education that his son would enjoy. His son attended the very best schools, and in time, graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London. He went on to become known throughout the worked as the noted Sir Alexander Flemming, the discoverer of penicillin.

Years afterward, the same nobelman's son who was saved from the bog was stricken with pneumonia. What saved his life this time? Penicillin. The name of the nobleman? Lord Randolph Churchill. His son's name? Sir Winston Churchill.
