90's Fashion

The 90's style of fashion is by far my favorite. Although, I have talked to people who were youmg in the 90's and they claim that it does not even exist.
To me, 90's fashion consists of dark grunge as well as soft grunge. It is Dr. Martens, tights and smiley tees.
This style of clothing is still huge today, here are some of the 90's styles that are still in today.

First, and most important, Dr. Martens:

These boots were first intended for workers, and this explains why they are so heavy duty. But, these boots are now the staple of grunge fashion and go great with some torn up tights or over the knee socks.

And next, Jansport backpacks:
These backpacks were, and still are, intended for carry books or for long road trips. But, with lots of colors and patterns available, these backpacks are an easy way to look fashionable in school or on the road.

Another good style is high-waisted shorts:

In my opinion, high waisted short or pants, never went out of style. They are perfect for multiple reasons: 1: They make you look thinner 2: You can wear crop shirts with them and not show off your stomach 3: They are always in stlye.

Next, body piercings:
Body piercings are another thing that has never been out of stlye since the 90's. Grunge fashion would not be complete without piercings. Ranging from a belly button piercing to a nose ring, piercings are a staple for a rebellious teen who loves grunge, or like me, a not so rebellious teen who loves grunge.

Last, but not least, flannels:

Another workman like style that has gone grunge, are flannel shirts. They are perfect over your high waisted shorts in the summer or under a bunch of layers in the winter.

  1. I was definitely a 90s kid and wore nothing but the grunge look! I had Dr. Marten's in every style and color, wore band tees, and layered flannels. It was one of my favorite looks growing up and I'm thrilled it's back!
